What are the benefits of yoga?

I'm thinking of trying some type of yoga exercise. What are the benefits? My doctor says that I'm slightly overweight. How much weight could I hope to lose?

its all in how much you put into it.. you will get equal to greater benefits based on how much effort you make..

Bikram is great for weight loss. You will learn how to manage your increased heart rate with your breath.

You will get a lot of exercise, and sweat a LOT...

Sweat will help your detoxification.

Increasing your heart rate every day (or as often as possible), is the most important thing in achieving better health for your body.

You will start to feel better overall about yourself, and your body after 5-7 classes..

You must stick with it.. its hard.. but you will get back what you put in.. so keep going back... Take my word - there is nothing better at making YOU feel better than to achieve better health for yourself..

Hard to say how much actual weight you will lose, as everyones body is unique.. You will sweat up to 2liters in 90 minutes though so stay stay hydrated, and stick it out...

You tell us how much weight you lost after a couple months!!
