What is the difference between a yoga mat and an exercise mat?

What is the difference between a yoga mat and an exercise mat?
I am starting a yoga class and I have an old exercise mat, but I don't know if it will also work as a yoga mat. What is a yoga mat like? If I need to get one, which is the best and where do I buy it? Thanks!

you should go to any yoga studio or class and just rent your first one.. it will somewhere around a Dollar.. if not free..

you can see for yourself..

A yoga mat will cost you anywhere from 18$ to 40$..

I don't know what your 'exercise mat' is like, so I am hesitant to comment..
